Headquartered in Huntington Beach, California, PCE Backline is a leading provider of musical instrument rentals throughout Southern California (and for tours that reach far beyond). Our collection of vintage and modern guitars, basses, drums, keyboards, synths, pianos, organs, amps, cabs, DJ gear, and orchestral instruments help musicians—from A-list performers to smaller, underground acts—use the best possible equipment for shows, tours, and recording sessions.
PCE Backline is a division of PCE, a full-service event production company and gear provider based out of the same campus in Huntington Beach. PCE (originally founded as Pacific Coast Entertainment) has grown steadily since it began in 2000, connecting event partners with the technology and expertise needed to put on concerts, theatrical productions, corporate events, galas, premieres, and other exciting events. Upon acquiring Speeda Sound in 2022, PCE added a robust collection of musical instruments to its rental/production inventory, helping clients take care of even more of their event needs through a single partner. In addition to lighting, audio, video, staging, and rigging, PCE customers can now use the company to fulfill all their backline needs.
Of course, PCE Backline offers more than just quick gear rentals. We also provide full-service backline production. That means our team of backline pros (themselves recording experts and skilled musicians) can tech, prepare, and manage all of your rented backline before, during, and after your gig. When it comes to backline, few people can match Mike Willson's immense level of knowledge. In addition to heading up the PCE Backline department, Mike owns a recording studio in Orange County and plays drums in multiple rock bands. This background has given him unmatched experience with musicians across a wide range of musical genres.
An expert guitar player, Anthony has worked as a guitar tech, production manager, and tour manager for numerous acts (most notably the blues musician Walter Trout). Anthony also spent time teaching music and guitar at Huntington Beach High School. Now, he brings his considerable skills to bear keeping our massive inventory of musical instruments organized and in tip-top shape.
