CSU Long Beach Cultural Graduations
California State University, Long Beach holds a series of Cultural Graduation Celebrations in the Walter Pyramid every year to recognize graduating students from diverse backgrounds. This video depicts the 2025 iteration of this event series, which featured PCE audio, staging, rigging, lighting, power, and more.
Our team built a Steeldeck stage to serve as the focal point of the proceedings, complete with ADA ramps on either side. Behind this stage, two Genie ST-25 Super Towers supported sets of L-Acoustics Kara line array line array speakers. These speakers (augmented with QSC K10.2 powered speakers) functioned as the event's main PA system. Event presenters relied on our Shure ULX-D wireless microphone system to make their voices heard, while a PCE audio engineer set and monitored levels from behind a Yamaha DM3 console.
The PCE team set up a long series of pipe and drape behind the stage, illuminating it with SeaBlast LED PAR accent lights. Elsewhere in the arena, we mounted ETC ColorSource Spot LED Leko lights on 12" truss towers to provide stage lighting. PCE lighting designers used a Strand FLX S48 lighting console to appropriately theme lighting to each individual graduation ceremony.
