FloSports "The Crown" Jiu-Jitsu Tournament

Plus Icon

In November 2024, FloSports brought another great jiu-jitsu event to Southern California: The Crown. This International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation event featured six divisions of professional jiu-jitsu competitors vying for supremacy at The Walter Pyramid on California State University, Long Beach campus.

PCE provided a good deal of production for the event. Our gear got put to work for both practical purposes and for some bonus visual pizazz. A set of Genie Super Towers raised Elation Proteus Maximus Profile Spot and Mac Aura PXL Wash lights to a position from which they could illuminate the pair of rings where the martial arts action took place. Additional ETC ColorSource Spots on stands helped fill in the gaps. Around the jiu-jitsu mats, a set of Chauvet Ovation B-2805F strip lights added some flair to The Crown logos. A PCE lighting designer controlled all of these fixtures via an ETC ION XE lighting console.

In addition to all this special lighting, PCE provided a bit of audio to augment the arena’s built-in PA system. We contributed QSC KLA speakers, JBL VRX subwoofers, Shure ULXD wireless microphones, and an Allen & Heath Qu-16 console.
