Lyon Air Museum Private Party (featuring Reckless Kelly)
The Lyon Air Museum in Santa Ana contains some genuine historical treasures—warplanes that played a key part in American history. This makes it a great place to visit, but after hours the venue pulls double-duty as an event space. We have an ongoing partnership with Lyon Air to provide production help for some of the bigger events that take place inside the museum. Recently, we helped out with a private party that featured the Americana band Reckless Kelly.
We did a little bit of everything for this event: rigging, staging, lighting, audio, and backline. We carefully lit the venue, taking care around the historic aircraft. Some well-placed MAC Allure Profiles did much of the heavy lifting, and our lighting designer tied things together with a High End Systems Road Hog 4 console. Our audio engineer used an Allen & Heath SQ-7 to mix the Reckless Kelly show.
The band asked for backline, and PCE delivered. Reckless Kelly brought their own guitars, but we provided everything else, including Fender Twin Reverb (reissue), Fender Deluxe Reverb '65 (reissue), Fender Hotrod Deluxe, and SWR California Blonde II guitar amps. The bassist used the timeless Ampeg SVT Classic Bass Head and Ampeg SVT-810E 8x10 Cabinet combo, and the drummer used one of our Yamaha Maple Custom Drum Kits. Beside the stage, a PCE audio engineer mixed the band's monitors using an Allen & Heath Qu-32 audio console.
