General Event Technician (San Diego)
PCE, a live events production company, is looking for a General Event Technician with abilities in the areas of Lighting, Audio and Video to support our company in Huntington Beach, CA. This person must be self-motivated, have a great attitude, and the ability to work evenings and weekends required as well as out of town for short periods of time. This role will report directly to the operations management, performing wide-ranging tasks in a fast-paced environment. All work will take place at a jobsite.
DUTIES
You will be expected to carry out the duties and responsibilities described below, as well as all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. These duties and responsibilities are periodically updated to reflect business needs.
Provides general support for all technical stage and backstage needs, including set-up, operation and strike/tear-down, for events but not limited to:
•Responds to work calls made by PCE
•Specifically responsible for general lighting set up and operation, audio system set up and video set up
•Set up of some related truss + rigging support systems.
•Interacts with artists and their technical/production staff, clients and in house staff
•Demonstrates a professional and friendly working rapport and demonstrates fantastic customer service skills, integrity, and reliability.
•Has a great attitude towards work, and is self-starter
•Creates and maintains a safe and pleasant working environment for staff and customers
•Performs maintenance on equipment and systems as required
•Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
•Broad general education with relevant entertainment industry experience
•Ability to work evenings and weekends required as well as out of town for short periods of time
•Knowledge and practical hands-on experience working with modern computerized lighting
•Demonstrated proficiency in audio technologies
•Demonstrated proficiency in A/V including video projectors, LED wall technology, + HD Camera systems
•Work effectively and sensitively with diverse constituencies
•Able to provide excellent customer service and public relations skills; work under pressure and within set timeframes; work independently as well as an effective team member in the execution of events and other assigned tasks; be outgoing and enjoy working with people; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
•A strong understanding of safety issues associated with working in events
•Excellent oral, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills
•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
