Shop Technician/Field Support

OVERVIEW

PCE, a live events production company, is seeking a dependable and motivated Shop Technician/Field Support team member for our San Diego location. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in hands-on work, wants to grow within a warehouse-focused role, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. PCE focuses on offering remarkable client experience through customer service and industry expertise. At PCE, it doesn't matter what it is, if the client can dream it, we can do it! Business hours are Monday – Friday, 9 am-6:00 pm. Hours for this role include evenings and weekends.

DUTIES‍
Priority One – Shop Technician (Primary Role):

• Prep, de-prep, and maintain rental equipment using ERP software.
• Load/unload trucks and deliver gear using up to a 24’ box truck (driving test required).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment.
• Assist with inventory control, repairs, and logistics coordination.
• Support missing/lost/damaged gear processes.
• Repair broken equipment and identify items needing more in-depth repairs.

Priority Two – Field Support (As Needed) *Field duties are secondary and subject to recall for shop needs.

• Assist on-site crews with setup, strike, and basic show support.
• Load/unload gear at event sites.
• Support techs without acting as a lead technician.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in live event production market required (warehouse or operations preferred).
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; box truck driving experience required.
o Trailering experience is a plus, willingness to learn is required.
• Able to lift 75 lbs. and work flexible hours, including nights/weekends.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship.
• Basic computer skills; MS Office and FLEX experience a plus.
• Excellent communication and time management.
• Long-term interest in shop-based career growth.
• Must have good vision, especially depth perception.
